Dying a Cowboy Hat

Not sure if this really fits into home and garden - I've got a fairly cheap cowboy hat, made of cellulose and is currently straw colour. I want to dye it black, cloths dye doesn't seem to work...

Food in a cool box

If you freeze food and then put into a cool box with the ice packs, how long do you think it will stay edible? Thinking a day to defrost, day or two in the cool box?
