land rover defender 200 tdi diesel engine smoking

My diesel engine has suddenly started usng oil. I filled it up and started it, smoke is blowing out of the filler. I suspect its either the head gasket or piston rings, though, it is not down on power

I don`t have a spark on any plug using a strobe light. i have disabled the earth safety strap. No6 cylinder was not firing yesterday now they are all dead. I`ve tightened all electrical connectors....

escort diesel difficult to start

It has always taken a while to start sometimes requiring 3 goes with the glow plugs which i have renewed. We have owned it for nearly ten years
