There is no 12V supply to the air con pump. When i attach a supply, the pump clicks in and the engine revs drop. The blower in the car works! I have taken the electric plug off the back of the selector switch in the car to find the purple and yellow wire that runs from the pump and disappears behind the engine bulkhead. When doing a continuity check on this lead at the the switch, i find that it connects to the BLACK?? wire at the pump end which is usually the earth lead? with, no 12v supply coming down the purple and yellow

hi, not an expert, but on my sintra I could get the air con to work if I fed the pump directly with a live feed . so I fitted a switch on the dashboard. the reason it did not work from the normal switch and the difference in colours of the wires leaving and the wires arriving at the pump was because they go via pressure switch relays. these were faulty, but the cheapest option was to bypass them( I had already had it regassed twice at 60. a go ) It worked o.k. for the next two years then I sold it. probably still working now.
