Hi poglet, keep nice and warm, make yourself some hot milk, put a little drop of whiskey in it and drink it while it is hot, then go to bed and sleep, you will be much better in the morning, take care, nite, nite poor poglet, Ray x
I'm nearing the end of a course of chemo and radiotherapy for cancer in my throat. I've been feeling sick and tired, and all inside and outside my mouth and throat is dry and sore as hell due to burns from the RT. I can't eat a thing coz my taste has gone, (I've lost ten pounds in weight), I've got horrible thick gungy saliva in my mouth which makes everything taste disgusting and some of my hair has fell out so i've just had a number 0 all over. I've also got stomach cramps and constant constipation. The doctors tell me to expect these side affects to start getting better in another month or two so I've got my fingers crossed that it might not be that long. Still, you won't hear me speak a word about it... ;o)
And to make it worse, Boro went and lost last night!!!
Hello gazza, hope all goes well with chemo,my wife went through it 5 years ago,so can sympathise with you, take care, keep smiling, your nearly there, Ray

Take care gazzawazza I hope your side effects subside really soon X

Poglet have you tried echinacea? Its a herbal thing you get from tescos boots etc and its brilliant at reducing the time you feel ill and boosting your immune system. Lots of Vit c as well and wrap up nice and warm ! x

Poglet - take 100mg Vitamin C every day, and echinacea, I promise it will help you.

gazzawazza - Try something called Blue green algae, and also Spirolina. (available in Holland and Barrett) I promise it will really help you regain strength quickly. Also if you can get a juicing machine and juice every day anything and everything, carrott, swede, oranges, tomatoes. It is delicious and it is so good for you at this time. It is so great my friend calls it "liquid gold". I wish you a speedy recovery and send you much love and light - Amara xx

Poglet sorry that should have said 1000mg Vit C not 100 - that would be no uses whatever x
Im sure I speak for all here chazzawazza. We're all rooting for you,God bless. xxx
Poglet. Plenty of lemon and honey, paracetomol for the aches and pains and as the others say, echinacia and vit c. x

Thanks very much for your support everyone it's greatly appreciated.

FINA, chazzawazza! I like that, might change my username!

Amara, sounds great only oranges and tomatoes sting like mad at the moment and I'm hoping that the affects will subside sooner rather than later so I don't know whether to but a juicer or just keep going without it now.

Once again, thanks everyone (and I really haven't moaned much, even my wife said that to me!)
