My other half is vegetarian and on her behalf, I as a meat eater must say that I am disgusted at anyone who eats fish calling themselves a vegetarian. You bring disrepute to the term. Call yourself what you are, a pescatarian, and do not try to look honourable when you are just the same as me a carnivore!

To all the vegetarians out there the one thing you must do is stop calling yourself veggies. It is demeaning to the cause of vegetarianism, rise above it.

Go MIKE O Go MIKE O Go go go MIKE O. Lol

A true conversation at work on this subject happened recently. As a veggie of many years I was asked if I ate fish. I said "No, I don't eat animals". My colleague (a fluffy bunny/cat loving type) replied "A fish isn't an animal!" "What is it then?" I asked to which she said in all seriousness "It's an amphibian".

Laugh? I nearly suffocated.

Ive been a vigitarian for 9 months but I have been occasionally eating "wild caught fish." Should I still consider myself a vegitarian? I stopped eating other meat and animal products because i dont like the cruelty inflicted on them. I just dont have the same love or respect for fish as i do for other animals. I probably should though. i guess Im being speiciest.
Vegetarians do eat animals products whether they like it or not its vegans that don't eat anything containing animal products. How many times have you chewd a chewing gum not knowing whether the thick chewy thing is actually blubber. how many chocolates and crisps have veggies eaten that contain traces of animal fat. I'm not veggie as i dont see the point because regardless of whether i eat meat or not animals are going to be slaughtered. my friend is a vegetarian not because of ethical reasons but because she doesn't like the taste, but she eats plenty of other foods containing traces of meat such as curries, gravy, crisps and chocolates. to be a vegetarian doesn't mean you have to cut out meat completely are there are many dictionary definitions and quotes on different types of vegetarians. My mother is also a vegetarian as she heaves at the smell of meat but she eats dairy products and eggs. If you were a strict vegetarian then you would cut out all products containing meat which would put you under the vegan catergory.
I am a vegitarian, and I still eat fish. I wouldnt, but I am young and need the nutrients. Just because vegitarians dont eat fish, doesnt mean that all vegitarians dont.
