Hi

Me and my Husband started taking Selenium tablets a year ago, as we read that it is not in our food anymore, and it is very important for our well being.

We never ever got colds before taking it, but now we never seem to be free of them, can anyone throw some light on this subject,

Thanks

selenium tablets are usuallly fine...the only reason that I can think of is that both of you may have a sensitivity to them and therefore your usual vitamin and mineral intake is not being absorbed correctly, leaving your immune system more vulnerable to infections such as flu and colds. What type of tablets are they?...some are not easily broken down by the system...

PS I think it is a great idea to keep up your selenium intake, and if you can't tolerate the tablets then Brazil nuts are a good source, especially organic ones

I bought the selenium tablets from Healthspan,

Thanks for your answer.

I think the tablets should be fine...it must just be a coincidence that you have fallen ill since taking them. Hope you are feeling better now that the spring's finally kicking off!
