How does Ann know everyone's birthday? Is she a mod with access to all the AB data?

People mention their birthdays on here or tell her. She has an amazing memory :-). Do you want to give yours? X

I need to check my profile first to see if it corresponds.
Are birthdays even on profiles? I don't remember giving mine. Doesn't really matter if it corresponds or not, anyway?
Just looked, yes they are on there.
Perhaps she's part of a conspiracy, jj. (probably by the lizard people)
Don't upset Ann by querying this - Some ABers give her their birthdays specifically so they can get wishes on their day. She doesn't TWOC them.
//Is she (Ann)a mod with access to all the AB data?//
No Jude I was more of a Rocker in my day! ;)

I only get the actual birthdates when some people post on AB that it is their birthday etc etc and once I started a thread for ABers to tell me their birthday if they would like a Happy Birthday post put on by me for others to send wishes too - if they wanted to. Some people love to receive birthday hellos but a few don't - it's really up to you. I write them down in a book by date and I have been doing this for a few years now (no medal yet!! ;)
It's not possible for me to see your date of birth on the stats or profile page.
I can see it, Ann, JJ was born on April 1.
Just for information:
AB's moderators can't see anything about members which isn't on their public profile. (i.e. we've no access to email addresses, passwords or anything else).

All we've got are 'Ban' and 'Suspend' buttons when we click on a member's profile and a 'Remove from site' option when we click on 'Report'.
Ann, I'm curious as to why you use a book to keep your records and not a document or database on your pc.
Well I find it odd and weird and when McFluff wished me a happy birthday, someone I know and interact with both on-line and off line....Ann wasn't very pleased.

She is wishing happy birthday wishes to people that barely post here.
I don't find it odd or weird -I would be being hypocritical if I did.

I used to do the birthdays, though I was never as diligent as Ann and it has been made clear anyone can say 'no thank you'.

If I do want to get a greeting in , I try to be sneaky and get in on the dot of midnight. ;-)
I feel that when more than one person has a birthday then it's like a popularity contest, and I feel obliged to post.

That's why I don't post on any of them. ;)
I can see both your points, it can seem a bit obligatory if you post on one to add to all.
Me too svejk.
