The term "the It Girl" was coined by English novelist Elinor Glyn and it means a person who has more than just sex appeal. "He or she must be unselfconcious, full of self-confidence and indifferent to the effect he or she is producing." The term was applied to actress Clara Bow. Currently Lesley Mann is claiming the title.
