Very soon I am on holiday which includes a day in Gibraltar, some friends have asked me to get them a carton of 200 cigarettes and 5 pouches of rolling tobacco which I don't mind doing as I do not smoke myself but as my funds are limited they want to give me the money up front but I have no idea how much these items cost in Gibraltar anybody got any idea?

I hope you are not travelling alone then. I may be wrong but as Gib is duty free I think your limit would be 200 cigarettes (maybe 300) and NO more tobacco products or the 5 packs of rolling baccy and no cigs. Unless the law has changed yet again. The Spanish border police and customs are the most zealous I have ever encountered. The duty free is dirt cheap though.
I bought a heavy duty sheepskin flying jacket for a third of the cost of an Irvin Jacket here. (£190as opposed to £600). The temperature was about 34oC at the time.
Retro....I went to Gibraltar last year (stayed in Spain) I was never checked crossing the border. Once you're in GIB you'll be met with loads of people buying cigs and alcohol. Gibraltar is dirt cheap...even compared with Spain.

Secsee1....do your friends a favour, and don't get them any tobacco products at all !

Thanks to everyone who answered and yes I will be with somebody so cigs and baccy no problem.
Alcohol is really cheap as well. In the supermarkets, not the pubs. I think we paid £7 for a litre of vodka.

Gibraltar is much cheaper than duty free.
