'Cos UPS are like that, charging ridiculous minimum delivery fees. Maybe you could email the website and ask if they'll send it USPS Global Priority Mail instead? I've had positive results doing just that in the past.

I have had similar experiences.

I bought a hat from an American website and the postage from UPS came to triple the amount of the actual hat. I wasn't impressed, so the next time I was going to order a t-shirt I went on eBay and found exactly the same one and bought it cheaper than it was in America without the postage.

parcel2go.com have an option now where for a tenner a year you can have a us postal address...they also combine packages, so if you a lot of stuff from American sites it may be worth checking out and getting it forwarded to you that way...
