Just picked up on a thread in P&P - mentioning the band XTC. That was a real blast from the past for me.

Got to thinking and does anyone on here remember a 70's US punk band Richard Hell and the Voidoids ?

Blank Generation was their big hit - they rocked !!

And what about the Tubes ?? White Punks On Dope etc.

The Tubes... they were so good! Best song was "Don't touch me there"- a sort of send up up the old biker type 60s rock n roll songs.

Another great band = Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers

richard hell was the nearly man of punk.a quality starter but a terribe finisher.he was i believe a new york doll, then a founder member of the awsome band television, before joining the heartbreakers and then forming the voidoids who released a cracking tune called "the blank generation"on sire records.they were part of the ny punk which played and hung out at cbgbs.hope this helps.
