Help! I'm off to a festival for 4 days next month, and whilst I don't mind getting smelly, I hate it when my hair gets manky, as its itches, I think I'll be ok for 1 day without a wash but 4 days .. no!!!

Any suggestions?

You can buy dry shampoo which might help. You spray it in, leave it for a bit and then brush it out. I have no idea as to how good it is but I suppose in an emergency its better than nowt! It comes in a green tin from Boots and Superdrug. Have fun at the festival !! :o)
dry shampoo?
Have you checked out if the festival has any shower facilities? I've been to loads that have brick-built toilets/showers (though you have to get up early to beat the queues!). Otherwise pack loads of bottled water and you can lather up and rinse off outdoors (ooh-er missus!).

There are normally always water pipes at festivals that people wash their hair at so you could use one of those. Otherwise i'm not sure what your options are.

Usually there is taps around the site or sinks by those lovely smelling toilets :-) so just wash it under them. Unfortunately my hair goes megga curly when dried naturally so when I went to Glasto I just tied it back and stuck a hat on it for 5 days. :-)
just shove it in a bobble . im sure it will be out of your way then or same as champagne says take a few bottles of water with you. or just konk a hat on !!
Hiya Cheekystar, i have used dry shampoo and its great! Not a long term solution but for the 4 days fine...Beware if your hair is dark as it can look like dandruff if not brushed in! x
If you have greasy hair, try rubbing a dusting of talculm powder in. That usually gets rid of excess grease.
Bicarbonate of soda rubbed in your hair and brushed out cleans your hair (you can use it on pets too.) You can also clean your teeth with it and it makes them really white.

Alternatively, find a local pub and ask if you can use their shower. Sometims the pubs local to the event will be willing to charge for thier onsuite room purely for people who want showers.......

have fun
simple, just wash it.
if you mean there are no facilities for washing, then that is another story. try dry shampoo.

You could either braid it if its long enough - wash it as there will be plenty of water available but nowhere to style it. Some festivals do have showers available but the queues are normally huge!

I know what you mean about the itching but that passes after a day and when I've been to festivals I've left mine and when i come home and wash it it has THE most amazing gloss to it!! Its almost worth it looking ick for 3 or 4 days.

Let your hair be the worst of your worries at the festival!

the dry shampoo in green can is called Batisse I think and you can get it from Superdrug or Boots. think it's about 2 quid.
