using w7 firefor
i have a toshiba vhs recorder .hdd disc
when i use the timer
i can put in starting date and finishing date
in .the channel box
its avi and av2..
how can i get the channel numbers in there
how do i remove the av1 av2

That lot's not easy to understand, Henry!

However you seem to have got the recording source set to 'external' (i.e. via an AV input) rather than to take a signal from the device's internal tuner circuitry. So you probably need to look for a button on the remote control which changes the source back to what you want. (On many handsets it's marked by a rounded rectangle with an arrow pointing into it).
