You meet your commuter pals off the train for a quick early evening livener.

Before you know it, the evening is gone.

Not even time to watch this week's Game Of Thrones.

Is it good?

No no, you can't say anything about it.

>>>You meet your commuter pals off the train for a quick early evening livener. Before you know it, the evening is gone . . .

. . . together with the contents of your purse, your sobriety, your modesty and your sense of decency, no doubt, JJ ;-)

Golly, Chris, it's only Wednesday. That sort of behaviour is saved for Friday nights!
They say it's a sign of old age when you can only do it once per week, JJ ;-)

I know that Hopkirk is taking the pee and being sarcastic ...

But I feel a strange compulsion to click "Mark as Best Answer" ...
Actually, I wasn't
You're a novice JJ, liveners are for mid morning not early evening ;o)

Gaah, dammit! Really?

I hate it when that happens.

Duuh, me!

So, err, thanks.

So what does one have early evening, panky?
Apero's
JJ, one has a 'quick one' early evening, not to be confused with a quickie
Question Author
Aah, right. Always good to learn the correct terminology.
Question Author
Nobody drinks mid morning, do they?

Well, except on a Saturday, obviously.
Mid morning on a Saturday only if Friday night was a heavy one, then that's a livener
Question Author
Ahaa!
I think AB could do with a livener.
I certainly could do with a livener.

Back in the day - when I had a job - it got to the point that everyone decided they could only afford one big night out per month. We had a works clubhouse, where drink was cheaper but then you only got to meet people in the same line of work as yourself. That was lunchtimes only though. In the evening, the taxi round trip was the same as a round for 6-8 people (I lived the opposite end of town).

Probably t.m.i. but just my way of saying I wouldn't be able to keep up the pace with jj's gang, even if they wanted me around.

On the upside, due to lack of drinking practice, I'd make a remarkably cheap date! ;-)

Question Author
There's really no pace to keep up with, hypo. It's just a chat with the pals who commute back from London. And one or two vodka and slimlines.

To be fair, shoota, it was midnight.

Most ABers were probably in bed.
