Hi, all. My husband and I saw a programme on tv quite a while ago that mentioned a UK town that has the most bookshops in the UK. Something like 26 independent ones. The town also has a big book fair each year. Does anyone have an idea which town that is?

Thank you!
My very well read ex girlfriend went I think it is worth visiting during the festival as they get good speakers. My friend made me laugh she would use words that I had never heard of but all her children could hardly read or write.
Try this ::::

Hay is set in wonderful scenery, and is well worth a visit, even if you can't read !
Hehe, like the 'kids events'...deckchairs and books...they'll be thrilled!
By the way, Hay is worth a visit at any time of the year, not just for the Festival. When there, try the Granary for food...wonderful !
My eldest daughter (9 years old) went last year on a school trip to the festival & she loved it. She's really into books so it was a real treat listening to the authors discuss their books (and it was free!!!).
I shook Bill Clinton's hand in Hay in 2001 !
