See the comments about the voting public as said by Polly Toynbee, Kevin Maguire, Neil Kinnock and Ken Livingstone.

I am appalled they treat us with such contempt!!! Remember this in 2020!

/// The steady drip-drip away of more typical left-wingers from those debates; ///

It's the same reason the hyenas run from the lion.

Retrocop was straight banned by an ABEditor. That is unusual, suspensions are usually handed out first. I don't know why he was permanantly banned but it means that the people running the site do not want this individual on their site. I actually liked Retrocop (mostly), so I am not bothered if he re-joins. But other users should know who they are communicating with. Most know that Tora was R1Geezer (and others) so knowing their history is useful.
It's typical of the Trots.

They claim to support democracy. They are continually spouting on about "democratically elected this" and "democratically elected that" ...

But, as soon as the vote doesn't go their way ... they turn against the whole system, with insults, protests, violence, etc.

This is the true face of left wing politics ...

You can vote for whom you wish to be in charge.

BUT you'd better vote for me ... OR ELSE!!
These attitudes are the thin end of the arrogant lefty wedge. They believe that the 'proles' are too stupid to understand the issues, and too selfish to be trusted with their own money.

What they'd like to do of course, is relieve them of both those burdens of being able to vote and having any money - for the good of the people of course, the state knowing best how to govern and control the nation's wealth. This is where it inevitably leads if given the chance.
^Too right. I've heard quite a few blaming the right-wing press for the 'proles' misvoting. Some even suggesting that we be forced to read the 'right' papers and form 'proper' opinions. (apparently the point of the Leveson proposals, lol)
