The latest Westlife effort 'Mandy' was originally a hit for Barry Manilow, but didn't Barry nick it off Scott English? English had the original hit entitled 'Brandy' in 1972, and all Manilow did was change the name. So who gets the writing royalties... Scott English & Somebody Kerr, or Barry Manilow?

I don't think Manilow ever claimed to have written the song, so songwriting royalties go to Kerr and English. Manilow changed the name because there had been another hit song called 'Brandy' around the time that he released it.
Of course, Barry Manilow was also famous for singing "I Write The Songs". But he didn't write that one either.
Barry Manilow is also famous for having a very large nose
