My PC has recently started acting strangely.

If I close it down completely, when I switch it back on, the boot-up process does not complete. Instead, I get a screen like you used to get on a computer in the '80s, and a message saying, "Award Bios Setup Utility. Item specific help; Since you use a new PC or reinstall your CPU, the system boots up at CPU speed of 2x66MHz. Now you can adjust the speed..."

This only started happening a few days ago. I haven't used or installed a new CPU, and also, when I click onto AB, it opens with "My profile" even though I have previously signed out. I've also noticed that the pages of AB are displaying questions from 23/04/06 until I refresh. Does anyone know how to stop this please?

Have you gone into the Bios and adjusted the speed at all as it suggests?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that Timm. Yes, I followed the instructions (which were a bit difficult to follow) the first time it happened, but still it keeps happening.
My guess is that there is a problem with the BIOS and it won't boot up until it is fixed, instead it takes you to the BIOS set-up screen in an attemp to get you to fix it. It could be that the battery is done and BIOS memory is failing as a result.

Thanks, it's actually stopped happening now!
