Does anybody know how long a bank must keep its records for a standard personal account? Once that time is up, and they are no longer required to keep them, do they delete them? Or is everything stored indefinitely?

I thnk somewhere between 2 and 7 years depending on the type of information, and after that they can destroy. I dont think everything could be stored indefinately some banks are hundreds of years old, storage of that wouldn't make sense
