Many thanks all. I don't like multiple possible answers. I'm struggling a bit with 14 across. Clue: Father awkward initially in church house in this? I have: ?E?R?C?O?Y.I thought it should be REFRACTORY. Father=FR; awkward initially=A. in church house=RECTORY. But REFRACTORY is to do with furnaces and stuff. Can someone please explain?
Rectory (church house)
Fr (Father)
A(wkward)

Is this = refractory
as you said, SPOT was a dog on Blue Peter. Tops means a large number or many
It's still- Snot
That's my mistake, then: I too went STOL. Thanks lots/tons/pots, everyone.
