Now Ebola has been confirmed on our shores;
Will people suffering regular tummy bugs and associated symptoms now have these symptoms exacerbated by panic??

very good divebuddy - and to Cornish pasties if the case down here is confirmed tomorrow.
You may recall the reaction of one John Smeaton to two lunatics crashing a burning Jeep loaded with petrol cans and gas cylinders into Glasgow airport terminal building
A couple of swift boots to the gentleman's vegetable plot then back to work.

A wee bit of a temperature, leaking fluids from every orifice and bleeding from he eyes holds few terrors for Glaswegians.
an average Saturday night around Parkhead, Douglas......
I've come to this one late but hopefully bumping it up for a new aspect. Despite no reports of Ebola on the loose over here or anywhere else outside W Africa, there is no guarantee it isn't here as it's not certain they'd tell us, which is definitely the case already in Nigeria where insiders say they're pretending it's not a real problem.

As sqad says, neurosis makes the worst things look likely even when almost impossible, and I've spoken to a number of people who like me believe it's possible now to pick up Ebola from the usual sources left on the street (no need to be more graphic), which have in our minds been potentially upgraded from filth to be avoided to potentially deadly filth. The fact the reality is probably close to zero will not register with the hypersensitive mind, unless maybe explained in an hour's official lesson with a doctor or scientist. Even then they may suspect it could still be around and the government are hiding it.

So my added aspect is not about thinking you may have it after the symptoms, but wondering if you've caught it by casual contact outdoors where the streets are not paved with gold but filth. It scares the cr-p out of me and a few friends of mine anyway so seen it's certainly not an unusual reaction.
