I have a pc which has a 80GB hard drive and 1024MB memory , i tried to install a pc learning game for my son , which on the back has system requirements , which my pc has got.

But on installation , a notice popped up saying i need 3MB of 'virtual memory' to run it.

I need enlightening a bit on this ... anyone explain what is virtual memory.

Many thanks for any replies.

virtual memory is an area of ur hard drive that windows (i am assuming it is windows) uses as if it were ram (normal memory of which u say u have 1024 MB--ie 1.0Giga bytes)--go to start right click on my computer and choose properties--click on the advanced tab then under performance click settings--in the performance options window that opens click advanced again--the bottom 3rd tells u about virtual memory--click on change and u get a window telling u how much of ur hard drive gets used for virtual memory--make sure ur c drive is showing more than 3mb--if not then change it--click on the custom size button and enter i suggest 1000 in the initial size box and 2000 in the maximumsize box--ok all of that and restart ur computer--if ur virtual memory is already more than 3mb then the problem is elsewhere so post back and let us know how u get on--also what version of windows--cheers
