12500 ideas for chicken http://www.astray.com/recipes/?search=chicken and 6500 for beef http://www.astray.com/recipes/?search=beef from astray.com.

To narrow the terms, just put in what you fancy trying in the search box - i.e. beef stew and have a look at the results. really handy site I seem to be promoting a lot at the moment, but I think the suggestions are really easy and there is a good wide choice of options.

Another good website is bbc.co.uk/food- you can put in an ingredient and get lots of suggestions up and the recipes are usually ones that have been on cookery programmes- Ainsley, Worral Thompson, Delia etc. It's really good.
Here's a suggestion; do your shopping as usual, but if something unusual catches your eye, pop it into your basket. Doesn't have to be too exotic - something you find in your supermarket will do. Either add it into your tried and tested recipes, or if you can't think of a way of working it in, check out the BBC site mentioned above and search for it.

i like making kebabs, you can use whatever marinade, meats veggies you want, warm up a couple of pitta's and serve, i uaualy make a homemade colselsaw to go with its lovelyand takes hardly any time to prepare
With any chicken left over from a roast I like to make chicken risotto. I just use onions, peppers, mushroom (bacon aswell sometimes), risotto rice, chopped up cooked chicken and a stock cube (or 2) with water. With fresh chicken I sometimes make a simple stir fry with chopped up chicken breasts, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and a pack of those baby corns and mange touts. I usually serve it with those fine egg noodles. The great thing about a stir fry is that you can use as many different ingredients as you like, so play around until you find things you like. I usually cheat with a stir fry and use those chinese stock cubes (from Oxo) to get a Chinesey flavour.

Nickmo, Thanks for that Astray site. I've 30 odd Cook-books, but never enough. That's a great site for me, thanks again.
I picked up from Tesco a tub of Thai Green Curry paste, I did what it said and what a wonderful meal I got. Not normally something I would try. Definitely worth a go.

Hi brionon - happy to pass on the Astray site - I've found it to be one of the easiest recipe sites around, and always has some interesting ideas..

Happy cooking!
