no, it's always happened to me. Just as well, I suppose: I once had a really serious cold when both sides blocked up, leaving me struggling to breathe and unable to sleep. No idea why it happens, so I'll watch this thread for answers.

Because you only ever breath out one nostril. And this changes side every 20 minutes. So if you breath on the back of your hand now you will find you only breath out one nostril, then in 20 minutes do it again and you will find you are breathing through the opposite nostril. Its a fact lots of people dont know. 

just tried it 4getmenot and am currently breathing out of both, though one a bit more strongly than the other. (I haven't currently got a cold.)

It's the changeover that's annoying - one nostril unblocks and you think 'Well, why can't it stay that way?' just before the other one blocks up.

I am breathing through BOTH nostrils as we speak! It could be that your body repairs itself in stages. For example when you do a detox you feel much worse to start with, then better, but only bit by bit. It takes a long time. Forexample, your skin may be the last thing to improve. Your nails may be weak and brittle, but EVENTUALLY (when your body has serviced everything else) your nails will suddenly start to grow again. It could therefore be that it's part of the healing process- you produce snot for a reason- to fight against potential bacteria entering the nose and throat. So, if one side clears but the body still thinks it's under attack, it will produce more, which ends up on the other side.
Honestly you only breath in and out of one nostril and it changes every 20 mins. unless one is blocked.

Ah Ha unless you arent breathing normally or have a cold
