Regardless of Covid, have you had any coughs, colds or flu recently? I had a bit of a cold which I caught from my friend whilst he was wearing a mask. Since then I felt a bit wheezy – I am asthmatic – and have a bit of a tickly cough, but not much. I’ve taken a covid test as I spent eight hours in A&E a few days ago. I just wanted to know what else was out there.

Yes there is something going around. I was out tonight with a friend who has a cough and lost her voice at one point. Just goes to show all the masks and hand washing doesn't really work.
haven't had a cold for years....
refused the flu jab, much to the surprise of the surgery, seeing as i am supposed to be at risk, being over 60
Glad to hear it was'nt Covid! My sister became asthmatic last month and it really gave us a scare. Turns out she had suddenly developed an allergy to ragweed. She is slightly allergic to pollen, which caused this sudden asthmatic attack. Since then, she is using my climacell app to watch for such spreads in her area when she goes outdoors.
I had a cold right at the beginning before the lockdown in March, and I felt quite ill a couple of weeks ago and started to panic a bit because I lost my sense of smell for a few days, that's never happened to me before. It must have just been a really bad cold because I felt better after a week. I had to get someone to walk my dog though, didn't want to chance going out.
I maintain that garlic/onions to prevent catching colds works by making you smell so bad that no-one will come near enough to you to pass bugs on.
