Does anyone else feel the simpsons has gone down hill latley? The Ricky Gervais episode had lods of hype and wasn't funny at all. Most of the new episodes have one bad joke in them and that is it. The writers seem to being forgetting about the humour in it. IMO the movie is going to be the final nail in the coffin for a once great show. If you don't have sky one, enjoy the good episodes of the simpsons while you can!

Hi...this is a problem with long running comedy shows....theres only so many situations and joke you can do with the characters. Shows like Red Dwarf and Friends sufferd from the same sort of problems.
Well...they're releasing The Simpsons Movie in 2007. Hopefully that'll be funny.

the simpsons has gone so bad that i now refuse to watch any of the new episodes, i made an exception last night an wish i hadnt bothered, it was terrible. Now i watch family guy and american dad insted, theyre much better!

the ricky gervais one was awful but then again i cant stand him!!! cant wait for the movie tho....

I will be watching the movie, and the Richard Dean Anderson episode in May out of loyalty to stargate sg1, but i doubt ill be watching any more new episodes

Agree. A lot of recent episodes start funny and then go sharply downhill.

The Ricky show, I think, illustrated his tendency to egomania, with the Charles/David Brent character taking a huge percentage of the airtime.

That said, I still consider The Simpsons as must-see TV.

Apparently Futurama may be coming back though. Genius. So many more places you can go with a show like that set in the future. And of course, same creator.

OMG, i love the simpsons, but that Gervais episode was total crap. And like others have said the later shows are all bad. they need to get back to basic's. no more special guests as a primary role, back to homer in the power plant and marge at home and the kids in school. There is still many ideas for new episodes. It just needs to deflate its-self alittle. As for Futurama, is this really coming back. I LOVE THAT. bender is the best.

(also have to say i LOVE south park. Not for kids.)
