I was watching 24 hours in police custody
The person had 80+ offences of burglary etc
Why is he not in prison?

Because he has served his time and been released?
He may have been sentenced for 1 offence and asked for the other 79 to be taken into consideration . Sorry I did not see the program.

I think he has been locked up for most of his worthless life along with the rest of his family but only short sentences.

The way he sat there smirking and yawning through the interview really *** me off, there's only one sentence good enough for scum like that and that's the death one
There are 100s if not 1000s of criminals who regard prison as a ' hazard of the job' They get caught do their time and reoffend as soon as they are released. They think of prison as a holiday and a time to catch up with their 'mates'. 3 hot meals a day free clothes and a warm bed can't be all bad!
I worked as a tutor in a prison and actually met many people who think like that.
