Every now and then I come across a funny on my local FB buy & sell page, and I've posted 'em 'ere.

Here's today

And the blurb to accompany it states "Day bed similar to this but with no back £20 pick up "

Which I'm taking roughly translates to "bed, looks begger all like the picture, and is infact just a single bed"

Well, it amused me anyway :-)

which leads me onto another thing - where has this trend for daybeds come from? Why can't you just use your bed if you want a kip in the day?

I think they are made to look like sofas when not used as a bed.

i get that, but really, what's the point? i have a sofa, and i have a bed (ive ven got a sofa bed!)

We're doing Mini Boo's bedroom up at the moment and have bought a day bed, though not that particular one, lol.

We/she likes the fact she can do it up to look like a sofa when she's not sleeping on it with cushions, it makes it look more like a "day" room for her during the...well...daytime :-)

If a room is big enough you can have a bed and a day bed which acts as sofa until one of your mates sleeps over.

Rather not have one we've to make into a bed again each and every night.

I like them. Kids spend quite a bit of time in their rooms so I suppose it makes it look a bit more grown up.

Speaking of kids bedrooms, me and the missus spent 2 hours tidying our sons bedroom and the ungrateful git moaned that he can't find anything!

But that one in the pic looks nothing like a day bed (if that's what you mean by a bed that can look like a sofa). It looks like a hospital bed to me.
