I had the following post banned, somebody must be really easy to upset!! are people these days so into themselves that even the smallest criticism is unacceptable?

''Hi Bannigan, I think you are being a bit demanding expecting Dell or any other manufacturer to cover software problems in their warranty, usually when you purchase something the warranty is for the hardware, what you do to/with/about the software is your own problem.

Part of the trouble here is that most people w/o computer experience think that a computer is like a washing machine or something - plug it in and go. Yeah to start with maybe but as soon as you change something or add soemthing kapowwww, problems.''

The problem with this site is that some of the users (especially the more established ones) think that the site owes them a favour. They get terribly offended if someone posts a question that has already been asked or if someone disagrees with their opinion. It seems sometimes like they are too possesive of the site.

I would like to say that MOST users are friendly, polite and helpful, others though are quite the opposite.

Thank God, I'm not the only one. I had problems yesterday because someone complained I was talking at them and not too them????? I was totally bemused and thought I'd literally wear kid gloves when I type in future, just in case my keyboard touch is too harsh for the gentle souls!

Don't worry qapmoc I have even had crossword answers banned because obviously someone is annoyed that I answered first.Childish in the extreme. Then you get some who IMHO are deliberately rude to people just to see if they get a reaction.Just ignore them.
The majority of people on here are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
I always thought an answer had to be reported a certain number of times before it got removed - is this not the case? Presumably the Ed would know if someone was abusing this by making multiple reports from the same computer.
I thought so too littleoldme, considering the time it takes to get dirty jokes removed... Bad luck qapmoc, you must have encountered someone with a very thin skin and lots of friends. Keep posting, though.
I also creep round this site carefully as some members are inclined to jump down one's throat after a slight disagreement. Some topics I am itching to have a go at but know that certain members would launch a full-on attack and that's not why I'm here. Of course people can and should have differing opinions but some people can't take it.
ah just take the bullies on......cus thats what they are...

I think a good healthy criticism or indeed insult is a good thing. However, with many posts banned and a personal email from the top dog stressing I must calm it down a bit, I have to be careful. I don't know if the bods can permanently bar me from the site because if they do I will be quite upset.

Yes, I have a social, work and family life outside AB but do see it as an intergral part of my few minutes i have to spare.

AB Ed (if you are looking) I am not that bad, am I?

Hi Ward -

No, you're not that bad.

I have had my head bitten off in the past just because I didn't know what category my question came under, so I did it twice and explained why. Not everything is black or white, there are grey areas. Lets all try and be nice and patient and helpful to each other. We really do appreciate the professional advice especially from the legal eagles, but please remember its nice to be important but more important to be nice.
