A humanitarian who worked with Médecins Sans Frontières, only wanted to help. Foolish, naive, brave, all of these things? Braver than me that's for sure. Whatever, heartbreaking for her family and friends. These atrocities seem to be happening on a daily basis. For how much longer I wonder?

I feel very sorry for her friends and family, and he of course, but one does wonder what goes through the minds of people that go out there?

It has been know for a few years now that it is very dodgy to go anywhere near them, especially for white females but they still go.

I heard it on Radio (Heart) just now, from what they said *These atrocities* are not quite right in this case, she was being held captive and was killed in an Air Strike on the building she was in.

Sad news. Perhaps, if she was killed in an air strike, it would have been a quicker death than what cruel fate awaited her if IS had had their say.

Who knows why aid workers do the job they do , at great risk to themselves .

I can only guess that it is out of a strong sense of altruism and a great urge to help their fellow human beings , i.e. those who find themselves in a desperate situation - a plight where the majority of us cannot begin to understand .

I can only hope that if i should find myself ( god forbid ) in a similiar desperate situation then there will still be people like Kayla Mueller , who will come to assist .

An earlier Sky News report said that the pictures that IS provided as proof of her being killed in an air strike were being treated with caution as several things about them didn't add up. Something to do with the leaves being on or off the trees which didn't fit with the timeline plus no smouldering ruins. Who knows? I expect it will become clearer at some point but the FBI have confirmed they have received proof that she is dead but not how she died as I understand it. Poor woman being in the hands of Is for months and then this.

Terribly sad news and so predictable. How convenient for the militants to blame Jordanian airstrikes. This being a group that you cannot reason with whatsoever.

Of course, we had the Jordanian airman who had already been killed when the issue of a hostage trade-off was mooted.

The US authorities make the oft used statement that of tracking down and bringing justice no matter how long it takes but realistically it's highly unlikely.

So tragic.

Yes, a bit too convenient AG. Ch4 News this evening were very careful how they worded their report saying I S had reported ...... and not stated as a fact how she had died.
