Left ' Cucumber ' on catch up by any chance ? ! Try not to worry , she will be fine . As for repeating it, she might . Sorry . That is funny though .
Bednobs - I find it odd that we can watch a prog on the TV when it's first broadcast, and know that perhaps it's past the 9pm watershed (like Cucumber) - but if you try to watch it on catchup, you have to press a button saying you know it might have adult content. You don't get to press a button if it's just scheduled after 9pm.

I still have a terrible memory of a coffin in a room, with a female body in it, and loads of people crying. this was my grandmother i now know, She died when I was just under two years old, but I remember nothing after that until i was about four or five. I think it takes a big big event to stick in the mind when you are young.
Cynthia was the little girl who lived next door. We moved before I was 3.
So I was right. You're not a bad parent. These things happen.
A child of that age would almost certainly remember the birth of a sibling or a death of a close relative, if s/he was closely involved. Otherwise, it would have to be something life-altering or traumatic, like an accident, to register a memory at such an early age.
Ha!

Sorry, shouldn't laugh I know.

if it's any consolation, I was heard over the baby monitor repeatedly shouting 'oh welcome' as I emptied my bathwater all over the floor... I maintain said bad behaviour was mums fault for leaving a small child alone in the bath tub.
I have two very strong memories from that age.
I am surprised someone hasnt given a more technical answer -
memory in children isnt that arcan a subject

well of course small children remember because you can ask them - where did you leave your yellow hoosit or how was nursery today and they will tell you.

but around the age of 3 - there is a switch over to 'adult memory'
and everyones "first memory" which is carried to adulthood is basically around 2 1/2 to three.

My earliest dated memory is a picture I remember being painted 1955 when I was 3 1/2.

so you have the evidence in front of you in this thread
before the age of three, people remember very little perhaps an event or two but virtually nothing at all.

well, we didn't get asked to stay behind at nursery today, so im taking htat as a good sign!
Just wait for her next painting to come home, bednobs ;-)
She'll wait unti you've almost forgotten about & then she'll say it really loudly somewhere really public.
Yes, exactly. This is a maximum embarrassment opportunity. They never miss those.
She'll save it for a couple of weeks time, probably whilst you're at the checkout in Tesco ;)
Like my 2/3 yr old daughter on a crowded bus. 'mummy why has that lady got moustaches?' of the lady sat next to me.
