I have a small cupboard in one of my bedrooms, and the clothes in there all persistently smell of damp. I can't find the source of a leak and can't leave the door open for ever. Any ideas anyone??
many thanks

Is there evidence of damp penetrating from outside through the wall ?

Maybe you have an issue under the floorboards where the cupboard is.
a small dehumidifier in cupboard may help...lots on amazon
Now that you've solved the problem of the leak at its source, maybe now you can line the cupboard with paper, put a pomander in there, ventilate the door/s, then closely monitor it.
what have you done already to find the source of the damp?
Are you sure it's damp and not condensation? I ask this as often in cupboards the problem is condensation especially if one of the walls to the cupboard is an outside one. One way to help with this is to put vents in at the top and bottom of the doors to the cupboards. If this doesn't work you could try a small cupboard strip heater.
if its condensation due to cold walls, then adding insulation to the walls inside the cupboard can help.
Try to keep clothing off the walls, line the walls of the cupboard and put a small vent at the top and bottom of the cupboard doors.
