The unicorn - horse or rhino?

As from above which one is it? Is the unicorn a horse or rhino or maybe even both?

As a ps to the wikipedia stuff the Latin for unicorn is monoceros. Very similar to rhinoceros.
The translations are probably along the lines of one-horned and nose-horned.
the rhino is supposedly a descendant of the triceratops and to me it doesnt seem like any picture of a unicorn has a rhino in it except for the twirled horn on its forehead and it has a modern day horses body
