Beware if you use colour catchers in your washing machine! Just paid £35 call-out charge as tube had been blocked by 3 of the said items .Anyone else have experience of this?

Good luck ellie. I think if you keep them in a bag, you should be ok. I've used them for many years and have never had any probs. xx

No. I put mine inside a washing bag so they don't get caught up in the works. Thanks for the info though ellie xx
never heard of colour catchers .
Mally, they're made by quite a few companies. The most popular is Dylon. It means you can put say, something red in with something white and the colour won't run. All the colour will be trapped in the Colour Catcher.

Was thinking of doing that, janbee, but had thought that they would be more effective loose in the wash.
I use them a lot. I think they're great.
No Ellie, I've never found that. I think they're still very effective in a washing net/bag.
thanks janbee i'll look them up xx

Yes, I always used them but not so sure now!
Tesco e.g do their own brand as do most other supermarkets.

Thanks for the info janbee. I might try that.

Isn't it just simpler to separate your wash into whites/lights and colours?
I use them too, I think I'll be putting them in a washing bag in future.

diddlydo, it's not always possible to separate whites and colours. For example rugby shirts with dark bodies and white collars.
Rather than putting inside a bag, they can be fastened to another item with a decent safety pin. Have done this for years...and no problems!
yes ive also had experience of it, but luckily for me mine found its way through to the filter and washing machine displayed a warning that the filter was blocked so i undone it took said colour catcher out and never used them again.!
See here for my warning from some time back:-
