I live in the NW too, and if your area is anything like mine try anything which likes swampy permanently wet ground, as it never stops raining!
I have an unheated greenhouse and i am in the midlands not too far away from you..and i manage to grow tomatoes inside and i put some leaning up it outside..i also grow cucumbers.inside the greenhouse and out...lettuce leaves you can keep picking through the season..spring onions...aubergines..and even cape gooseberrys...the thing is the tomatoes and cucumbers need starting off indoors then put them in the greenhouse mid may..in bigger pots..you could look on the gardeners corner forum as their are lots of vegetable experts on their..i am struggling at the moment getting some herbs to grow in the greenhouse as the weather is all over the place they have emerged but things are really slow..my tomatoes and cucumbers are still indoors on a sunny window ledge..i have some peas and beans starting to emerge in pots at the moment they are in the greenhouse the window ledges will only take so much...you should be able to grow a good amount of things..as i have never used a heater and i manage..
