what do you do at Christmas? celebrate 'something', ignore it all together, or reluctantly send 'Happy Christmas' cards despite your beliefs?
We celebrated Yule which conveniently goes on for 10 days so we have a few parties and a 'feast' on the 21 st & 25th
If you ignore Xmas how did/does it effect your children?

I'm all in . . . so long as One-Eyed Willy finds a treasure to open under the Christmas tree - http:// goo.gl/ lJHpaO
I find it lamentable that most people don't have the slightest idea that "Christmas" is a hijacked Pagan festival. It's got absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the birth of Jesus. Even if we accept that a literal Jesus existed (which is eminently arguable), it's extremely unlikely he was born in December. For example, the Bible mentions shepherds tending their flocks at the time of Jesus' birth. They don't do this in Winter; they do this in Spring. No shepherd at that latitude tends his flock at night in December.
What we now call "Christmas" is a pagan Winter festival. It is a celebration of the end of the year and the coming of the Spring. It's no accident that it falls almost exactly on the shortest day of the year (accurate calendars being a relatively modern invention).
"Christmas" as it pertains to the birth of Jesus is just religious flummery.
As to what I personally do at Christmas: I observe it. I observe it coming. I observe it arriving. And I observe it passing. I don't "celebrate" it in any way. I consider that "Christmas" as it is widely understood, is not worth celebrating as it is based on lies, built on lies, built on lies, built on lies...

Dear Cloverjo,
Why do you only have a get-together at Christmas and omit the rest of the year if you and your family enjoy it?
Please do not read this as in any way critical - that's not my position to comment one-way-or-the-other on personal relationships.
I just wonder why not get together on other occasions of the year as it seems to make you all happy.
Maybe the inhibitors are distance, cost or all working etc.
I personally understand your comment that there'll be fewer this year. Ageing of friends. relatives and indeed ourselves is not really much fun.
Ty for your comment, no need to reply of course.
Luv,
