It appears the answer from the Asian community is no.

This is quite appalling what they do to people, yet we have apologists on here continually telling us we should respect their ways.

AYG I bet you're the type who impersonates Asians by going "Oh, bud bud bud!"
You've made it pretty clear you are prejudiced against them.
careful, AP - as you know, any terror incident anywhere always brings out the AB hard men in force, stomping round and chomping cigars like Stallone and Willis out to save the world...
...tell me about it!
I would agree with everything AP says in his last post, were it not for the last word, which robs it of any dignity.
Why is it unreasonable to suggest that immigrants respect our way of life?
When abroad I try my best not to disrespect local customs and learn about their culture. My attempts to say at least a few words of the language may be risible but at least I try.
"It"? ;-)
I assume you meant "fascist" ...yes reading back over it, it does look a bit silly.
Which immigrants? Chinese new year celebs are open to all in Soho & restaurants. Notting Hill carnival & Dewali likewise. We dont do much for german beer festives or Semana Santa, Spain fiestas. We have free food at Eid. We cross breed as is our want. Who has la Fête des Rois on 12th night? etc etc
As with other non white groups the early Pakistani immigrants were treated with a lack of tolerance and possibly some persecution ("*** bashing" by some sections of the indigenous society). The long term reaction was inevitable-that they would uphold their beliefs and behaviours, maybe even exaggerating them.
It is reasonable to believe that these reactions may be inimical to their acceptance of our ways and customs. Hopefully, the immigrant community will gradually become more anglicised. Meanwhile the laws of this land must be uheld with due rigour
Strange that my last (previous to this) post here was removed when all it contained was an innocuous admission of regret.
