In the past, yes. My mother has tried a few of their finest white wines and seems happy. I have tasted the Barolo 2010 vintage and that was very nice - 14% red from Nebbiolo grapes.
I have bought quite a few bottles of wine from Lidl and Aldi. Never had a bottle of vinegar yet. ;-)
i have to buy some Rose Wine, and fruit cider (Berries) wine.

Would they sell that on Lidli ? Dread searching for want I need as pressies.
I've never noticed cider wine, not at Lidl anyway.
Our local one sells Rose and fruit cider, puss. They do some interesting liqueurs, brandies etc.

Never been disappointed and the prices are great too. The bottles always look far more expensive than they are!
2sp, really? Crikey, will go there tomorrow as I'm too busy today.

Would they also do a recognised Jack Daniels drink?
I seem to remember a similar Jack Daniels type bottle on the shelves...

Definitely worth a look if you have the time.
Fruit cider yes, but not a cider wine. I certainly haven't seen a bourbon/whisky similar to JD though.
I'm gonna shurrup now, I seem to have not had my eyes open whilst shopping :) sorry 2sp_, you must use your local more than I venture out to my closest Lidl.
Oh jesus 2sp, you've really cheered me and will even try to get there today!
Many thanks x
It could be that my local population are a bunch of alkies so Lidl and Aldi have a far bigger range of booze than most...

:-)

(Apologies now if you have a wasted trip, puss!)
It's as good as you can get at other supermarkets. Ignore any snobs that tell you otherwise.
Haha No worries 2sp, i can only look and pray to find what I need.
their comte de Brismand champers is good value
Brandy makes to randy
and Lidli I suppose makes you piddly

I apologise for these piddling rhymes.
Ys I regularly buy from Lidl - a liddle here and a liddle there
and they give good value and the staff are friendly

and the champers is OK

They did a very good deal o n claret a few years ago and this prompted all the city's barristers to get into their porsches and go into the slums - where the lidls are
So it's not 'Chateau Thames Embankment', that they sell then?
if you're not a fan of Rumpole you might miss the reference there ^
my learned frenz said not

Rumpole also said - "another bottle of slop" didnt he ?
The prices in the Wig and Pen ( opposite the Royal Courts of Joosteece ) certainbly arent sloppy
I've found a plonk that's tasty. Chateau de Flaugergues. It's a Langeudoc bottles by Henri and Pierre deColbert for M&S.
Are all Languedocs similar, full bodies loads of spicy tastes?
