The strangest thing that a woman has ever done to me

This is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. I work with a lot of women and we get on just fine. One day a new employee (young girl around 19) was being shown around the building by the personnel officer. It came to my department and I stood up and shook hands. I thought (as most men would do!) she was very pretty but nothing more than that. I was in the middle of some important computer work so whilst she shook hands with another person in my department I glanced back at my monitor. Then I suddenly felt nothing. Very strange, like I was in an unconcious state....just aware of well, nothing. I must have been in this state for a matter of a few seconds. When I came out of it, I was staring directly into the eyes of the girl and she into mine. We were just staring at each other. Then she just turned and walked away. God knows what the others thought in my department but as I said, I was not staring at her on purpose. Now I just cannot stop thinking about her. Its like I have no control over it. I could be working and suddenly....I am thinking about her. Its really bothering me. I have seen her since that meeting but not spoken to her. I have discussed this with my sister-in-laws but they don't really tell me much. Anyone got any answers?

sounds like love at first sight :) Never experienced it myself, but the way you described it sounds like other descriptions of love at first sight.
Could be some chemical connection between the two of you. How has she been acting with you since this happened? Although its probably hard to tell as you didn't know her before. Hmm very strange. If you like her and are single then I would see where it leads you.. if not, try to put it down to a momentary lapse and don't let it affect your work. :o)
Ooops forget to say.. maybe you two had 'a moment'.. I've had them with people, strangers.. they are like that! Its weird.. but then I go on to never see them again. :o)

Thanks for the quick reply! I will try and get to talk to her. Bit difficult as we work on different floors but will try. I forgot to mention another incident with this girl. I was walking down the corridor of the floor where I work and walked past the window in the (closed) door of the coffee lounge. The split second I walked past, I (again without thinking) turned my head to look in...directly at this girl who was sitting in the room. At the very moment I looked in, she looked up at me. I did not know she was in there and certainly do not make a habit of looking at people sitting in there drinking coffee! The door was closed yet something inside me made me look in. How has she been acting towards me? Not had the chance to notice...only seen her a few times. Will let you know.

Maybe you knew each other in a previous life...if you believe in that kinda thing...

lol @ electric blue. Lets hope she does not turn me into a Frog! At least I can joke about it but it does bother me when I am at work. Past life? Not sure, I'd need to hear from more people about their opinions on this answer. Regarding me speaking to sister-in-laws about all this, they just say go and speak to her. Might get the chance at a company meal next week. Thanks for the answers.
