When I click on a link on a website a blank window opens entitled Microsoft Internet Explorer. I have checked my Internet settings and they seem ok as far as I can see. This is causing me big problems, e.g I recently purchased tickets for the London Eye via a website and it required me to click on a link to print off a sales voucher to redeem at the ticket office. After a few phone calls I got them to post me the vouchers as the link was just blank. Is it something to do with my settings ?

Thanks

I think that the easiest way to solve your problem would be to forget Internet Explorer and get a decent browser. The majority of the 'regulars', here in the I&T section of AB, use Firefox. It's free, it's easy to use, it's more secure and pages load far more quickly:

My University is well into a programme of replacing IE with Firefox on a high-percentage of its Libraries workstations due IE's poor security and performance reputation.

Those that have tried the latest version of IE complain that it is unstable and already in need of an overhaul.

I no longer use IE on any of the PC's at home and like Chris, I suggest you ditch IE - he is spot on in his description of Firefox.

If you wish to stay with IE then have a look at this article from the Microsoft Knowledge Base, it deals with your problem. Note, if the first few things to try do not work you will have to edit the registry - be very careful if you have to do this, you can totally screw up windows if you do not know what you are doing when editing the registry.
