picture files from comp to TV

when you have picture files (eg jpeg) that may be viewed as a slideshow and you put them on a CD then put them into a dvd player connected to a TV how does it work?

1 do folders constitute chapters?
2 how do yougo to the next picture?
3 how is it set up/organized? do folders matter when going from one picture to another?

Depends on the software you are using to create the slideshow etc.

Usually you just use the remote to to page through the pictures.
