It's absolutely hammering down here. Been like this al week. Golf courses flooded. Theme parks closed. Roads are like rivers. Apart from that, all's well! Report concludes from a very very wet, Sunshine State. Check it out on The Weather Channel.

I have always been somewhat puzzled why the Brits go to Florida in the hurricane season ? California would be a much better option at this time of year...plenty of theme-parks, wonderful scenery and almost 100% guaranteed sunshine !

I don't like Blackpool the whole place stinks of chips and fry ups, spent a whole week there once haven't been back.

I had to go to Blackpool for a conference in 1995 and I hope never to go back, ever. The place was dirty in the extreme, full of drunks and piles of sick all over the pavements. You wouldn't get me to return if you placed me in a sack, tied at the top.
