I shouldn't think so since since it was last night. You just need to be careful with bones that they can choke on or bones that spinter and can cut the throat such as poultry.
THis is what the vet told me when it happened to my dog. Keep an eye on her until she has passed her next two motions. If she looks to be ill or in pain during that time then get her to a vet as she may need urgent treatment. Splinters of bone can pierce the bowel and cause damage but by two motions time, all the bone should have passed through. Bones are dangerous to dogs, but having said that I think every dog gets hold of a bit sometime and it passes through with no harm
Was it a cooked bone or a raw bone? Raw bones are generally safe, but cooked bones can be very dangerous, and should never be given to dogs.
My one-year old Springer has been brought up on the BARF ( bones and raw foods) diet.He has been eating meaty raw bones, particularly raw chicken wings, since he was about four weeks old.Bones are an extremely valuable source of calcium. It is my understanding that the acid in a dog's stomach is so strong that it 'dissolves' the bones.Put it like this,I have never noticed anything solid in his faeces!!! The BARF diet is based on foods which a dog living in the wild would have eaten i.e.a natural diet.
