Have a look in Blacks - reasonable choice of styles and price.

But remember to get good socks, too, and 'break' the boots in - the last thing you want on a walking holiday is avoidable blisters, though you'll probably get some anyway!!!

if you don't mind a short drive, on my daily commute between Bexley and Farnborugh, I've noticed that there's a new Cotsowld Outdoor store opening soon on the Orpington bypass. I've bought loads of stuff from them before, both in store and and on-line and they've been good value and also the store staff give good advice (not the usual 'can I help you sir from a spotty faced 13 year old!)

Good words from BigMac, socks just as important, if you are going for an average sort of boot have a look at a make called" Relo" I have had a pair for about 8 years and they are really comfy, but as BigMac says wear them in first, and take some vaseline with you very handy for rubbing into sore or blistered feet, hope you don't have to use it.

Have a great time, Ray

Yes I have found cotswold stores really good too, I got a tent in there, but they will have all stuff u need not just the boots. Happy hol!
If you are ever in Central London then you might find the link below useful. I have used Tiso in Glasgow for a number of years and always found the staff to be knowledgable and friendly without being pushy. Many of them seem to be walkers, cyclists etc.

I'm also a big Cotswold Fan. I believe there is also one around the Kingston area.

If your lookin for quality stuff, it is worth spending the extra couple of quid.

look on ebay or you could buy them there if you have time. my boyf got some great ones in poland.
What I did was go round a few shops trying several different makes on to find out which I felt more confortable in and then done various searches on the internet to see if I could find them cheaper. I got the boots that I wanted for 1/2 price by doing this.
