Is it possible to rearrange the sheet tabs in excel so that they run alphabetically?

Not sure it can be done automatically but you can Click & Drag the sheet TABS to any order you like.

Unless the latest versions have an option (will check 2003 later) - 2000 doesn't, you need to use VBA and/or a Macro. Try putting 'sort worksheets in excel' into Google - this is one result:-
