How long should I wait before papering over plaster/plasterboard.

if the plasterboard has just been skimmed you will need to wait about 2 days until the colour has changed from a dark brown to a much lighter brown,depending on the conditions.
But if it has a backing coat (browning) then it could take weeks (ask your plasterer)
Then you will need to size the plaster with wallpaper paste before you start to paper

Thank you tomfun. I am the plasterer. First go at it. Happy with the results. It is a skim (about 6mm) over plasterboard. So I will take you advice and wait until the weekend. PS took me over 2 hours to plaster the doorway. Would not like to atempt a larger area.
