Wednesday. To wet n' windy for walkies this morning. it's stopped raining for a minute.

Yesterday was a wonderful day. We didn't get on to the River as the weather did not look too promising, so as there is nowhere to pull in and moor if necessary for several miles we decided to be sensible all right all right, I know! stay on the canal. It's just as well we did as it hammered down for a while. But we had a lovely day, went down to Saul to see who was about. fairly quiet there, so we returned to Gloucester and went into the docks to moor up and went for lunch.

My mate chose a restaurant that was the home of Robert Raikes, the man that started schools for the boys of the city in the 1600's. It has been restored to as it was in his day, but with modern mod cons obviously! We also saw the room that he used as the school attached to the church he used. It's in the process of being restored too. It has a lovely feeling in there. The best way I can describe it is as a happy feeling, the same feeling is in his house. We had a lovely lunch then went for a stroll round the docks to watch the progress in preparation for filming. We did find out that Johnny Depp is going to be there. We then returned to the boat and moored up outside their front door. I got home at half past eleven last night. They are a lovely couple and made sure I had a lovely day, they said they had enjoyed it too. They are going to come to me next time. If it's dry I'll flash up the barbie. She wants to visit my butcher too! :o}

Have a happy day everyone.
