Hope the day stays bright as we are off to our youngest daughter's farewell picnic before she embarks on a new career in teaching in the USA. She's off on a 5 year contract next weekend.

Will miss her like mad, but hey, it's only a 7 hour flight away, and it'll be a new holiday destination for us!

Good luck H. Love you lots.

Good luck to her.
I'm sure she'll have a great time there.
As you say it's only 7 hours away. In times past if a young Irish man or woman was going to America their family and friends would hold an 'American Wake' before they went. They knew they likely would never see them again.
What a wonderful experience for her, Blue...where in the USA will she be? Somewhere nice for hols I hope....

Have a lovely day...x

She's off to North Carolina gness, I understand it's hillbilly country, plenty of knee slappin' and toe tappin', and hopefully a couple of cold Buds waiting for when we get there!
Now you just mind whose knees you're slapping, Blue....don't want to have to bail you out.....

Wish her luck.....x
I hope she enjoys her time there. Is she newly qualified or has she done some teaching here, BT?

Just you be sure to be there at the ho-down gness, might be your lucky day........or mine !!! :-)) x

Been teaching her now for 6/7 years Tilly, she's always had itchy feet for the USA and this opportunity came along.

Never know, she might meet some hunky yank!
If the hunky yank has a brother/cousin/single father/ I'll be there!...x
Well let's hope he's a rich, hunky Yank, if she does. I wish her all the best. Let us know how she's getting on. I will be interested to know.
Good luck to her, I liked everywhere I went in the US except LA which is a hell hole. Such an exciting thing to be doing xxx
When my daughter was living in USA the best thing was Skype for keeping in touch.
I hope she spreads the Blue gospel!
Best of luck to her, BT. Hope things go well.

Thank you all for your good wishes.

The picnic was super, 40+ people turned up! the sun shone brightly, games were played, lots to eat and drink, a farewell cake, speeches and tears. A lovely day.

Fear not Sipowicz, North Carolina will be Blue by the end of the year!
Lovely places in North Carolina - I loved it.
