Baby 'Designer' Clothers

This question has been inspired from another I have seen in the parenting section.

Why do people (often very young mums/dads) put their babies and toddlers in designer gear (mostly fakes from the market I think)?

It looks ridiculous and surely makes life twice as difficult when it comes to changing nappies etc.

They do it for the same reason that they themselves wear market knock offs, they think they look cool, sadly they don't.

Gotta feel sorry for these poor chavvy babies called Chardonney or Brittany, covered from head to toe in fake Burberry with gold hoops glinting merrily in their ears.

I agree with you BOO.

Babies grow so quickly, so why pay out for designer labels, when you can buy lovely clothes from many other places, including Tesco & Asda!

I am so glad we brought our daughters up not to be influenced by some of their friends wearing designer labelled clothes, it hasn't done them any harm whatsoever.

They now do the same with their own children.

As far as toddlers clothes go, you juat cant beat Asda, Tesco, Ethel Austin and Primark. There clothes are so cheap I couldn't care less if my own toddler only wears them once.

On the issue of it 'often being very young Mum's' though jelly-belly, I was a very young Mum, but would never have drempt of dressing either of our two daughters in designer clothes.

Although young, some of us are very sensible Mums too!

I was always top of the class in spelling & like you I am usually quite fussy about it, believe it or not! Hence my * here & there! ;o}

smudge - i was just saying that often it is younger mums/dads rather than older parents. I didn't mean all young parents - sorry if it sounded like it did.
