When i load up XP on my laptop it gives me option to start windows xp pro or to start windows xp setup. Windows has already been setup, and if i dont do anything it loads the setup. Pressing F3 twice restarts computer and i have to then choose to start windows xp. Anyone kow how to load windows xp pro automatically?

You need to change the boot.ini file on the root of your c: drive.

Here's how to do it :

I might just write a program to edit this file because it's a pain to explain...

when you laptop boots up does it show a scren saying set up / f2 boot / f6 network / f8 .


if it does this or similar all you need to do is press the key for boot. change the boot order to put c drive first and it should cure it. maybe, i could be talkin' out my ar*e thou' coz i've had a few beers. hic!
